Allosaurus

| Allosaurus (al-oh-sore-us) meaning
"Different Lizard," lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 156-144
million years ago. It was named because of its unusual vertebrae, which are much lighter
than those of other dinosaurs. Walking on two legs, Allosaurus was 30 to 40 feet in
length, up to 16 ½ feet tall, and weighed as much as 4 tons. Although its head and body
wasnt as large as the T.rex, this earlier ancestor was a top predator of its
time. With its sharp serrated teeth, Allosaurus fed on Stegosaurus and other
large plant-eating dinosaurs. Found mostly in North America, as well as in Europe,
Tanzania, Africa, and Australia. DinoStoreus offers a wide variety of dinosaur skeleton models, dinosaur skull models, dinosaur figurine models, and much more. To see all of our Allosaurus dinosaur products available for purchase, please click here: Allosaurus.
